Arthur Augustine Dallman (1883-1963)
One of the non-members of the LNHS. Dallman lived in Doncaster and was a well-known naturalist in the north of England. Born in 1883 in Cumberland, he was a botanist, cecidologist and editor of the ‘North Western Naturalist’. He helped found the Liverpool Botanical Society in 1906 and was President on at least 2 occasions. His interest in plant galls led him to publish a gall checklist for Cheshire of about 180 different species (Dallman 1921). Indeed, he wrote many papers on the subject of plant galls.
A. A. Dallman contributed one galled plant to the LNHS gall collection.
