Charles Smith Nicholson (?-1918)
Nicholson was a keen botanist and an enthusiastic supporter of the Society with a wide knowledge of plants which he was always willing to share with others. He recorded local flowering plants for the Society and presented specimens for its herbarium. In his will he left many valuable botanical and ornithological books to the Society. He also left a large collection of birds’ eggs and a fine collection of dried plants. These plants show his great knowledge and skill in their collection and careful preservation.
C. S. Nicholson contributed 4 plant galls to the LNHS collection.
